It's Trilogy, but I secretly hope there is a forth book in the making. Very good! It's dated back into the 1930's about a 13 yr old girl. Here is the summary of the first book from Barnes and Noble:

"So begins the story of Jessilyn Lassiter, a young girl whose world is torn apart the summer of 1932. When Jessilyn’s best friend, Gemma, loses her parents in a tragic fire, Jessilyn’s father vows to care for her as his own, despite the fact that Gemma is black and prejudice is prevalent in their southern Virginia town.

As she struggles to navigate a complex world of first crushes, loyalties, and betrayals, Jessilyn ultimately discovers what it takes to be a bright light in a dark world."

I also just started reading Fern Michael's sisterhood series, Weekend Warriors is the first book and is hilarious....

Also, don't forget you can download the Nook App, Borders App and Kindle app to your PC so you can read books on it. There are ALOT of free books you can download.
Kathleen (Leenie)Sandpaperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16022663466961331718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25563240.post-12632133034135738542011-01-11T10:49:01.810-06:002011-01-11T10:49:01.810-06:00Ooh, books are my thang! Alright, I'm going to...Ooh, books are my thang! Alright, I'm going to leave you a list, in different categories.

Chic lit: I've never read your "give away" books but I'm pretty sure they fall in this category. I enjoy both sophie kinsella's shopaholic series. You would, too, for obvious reasons. Also jennifer weiner writes a good book as well. Good in bed and little earthquakes are a couple of my favorites from her.

"Fantasy" type novels: if you're not into twilight, you should try the "dead" series from charlaine harris. It's like twilight for grown-ups. (Which means sexy time is involved). The hbo series true blood is based off of these books and they are very entertaining. They are also called the sookie stackhouse series.

I am currently reading "the girl" series by stieg larsson that everyone is talking about. If you can get through the first 80 pages of swedish law/journalistic stuff, it turns into a fabulous read. I'm in the middle of the girl who played with fire and I wouldn't put it down, except the children need to eat.

My all-time favorite book is I know this much is true, by wally lamb. It was one of the first dozen or so oprah book club books. It's a long one, but splendidly written. I pick it up again every couple of years and re-read it because it's just that good. Amazing story, amazing characters, and ties together like a dream.

Kay, that's all for now.courtney vossnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25563240.post-20434726364709077662011-01-11T10:44:22.421-06:002011-01-11T10:44:22.421-06:00water for elephants by sarah gruen!water for elephants by sarah gruen!lolabee2000https://www.blogger.com/profile/14047808644911399163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25563240.post-32132968531176378032011-01-11T10:43:50.488-06:002011-01-11T10:43:50.488-06:00Yeah, I want to see Jen read Obama's book...LM...Yeah, I want to see Jen read Obama's book...LMAO!!
